Stillwater Safety Lane brings a rich family tradition of quality auto service and repair. After moving to the Stillwater area in 1955, Founder Kelly Powell, foresaw the coming boom in American automobile sales in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. He also noticed that the existing network of service stations wouldn’t be able to keep up with the increasing demands for service and repairs. Kelly Powell, set out to develop a quality repair service that today has made the Stillwater Safety Lane name equate with the word quality.

Kelly sold the shop in 1974 to Mark Brown. Mark operated Stillwater Safety Lane for a year before taking a teaching position at Indian Meridian Vo-Tech in Auto Mechanics. Mark sold the shop to Jerry Beverage in 1975. Jerry operated Stillwater Safety Lane at it’s original location (106 E. 13th) until the early 80’s, then made a couple of moves before settling at the current location (2010 S. Main) in 1984. Partnering up with his son Shon Beverage in 1984. Stillwater Safety Lane is one of the biggest and busiest independent auto repair facilities in Stillwater.
